Active Membership allows one to partake in the full breadth of benefits afforded to members of Tau Beta Pi. These benefits include networking opportunities, preferred registration for service and social events, the ability to vote on initiates and chapter bylaws, and stoles for graduation. There are several categories of criteria that must be satisfied to maintain your Active Membership status which are given below. These requirements are set forth by the chapter bylaws.
- Attend 2/3 general meetings
- Attend 1 professional development event
- Attend 1 community service event*
If these requirements are not met, you will be considered an Inactive Member, and your Active Membership status can be reinstated in the following semester if you complete the above requirements and notify a chapter officer. There are other circumstances where someone may become an Inactive Member, and these are outlined in Section 2 of Article 7 of the Constitution of the Tau Beta Pi Association, Inc.
*If you are unable to attend a community service event with our chapter, please contact an officer as soon as possible.
