Membership will be offered to juniors in the top 1/8 of their class and to seniors in the top 1/5 of their class at the beginning of each semester via an email from our officer board. This standard of scholastic achievement is established in Section 2 of Article 2 of the Constitution of the Tau Beta Pi Association. Only students whose majors are administered under the departments and schools of the College of Engineering will be considered for membership. Further instructions for the initiation process will be provided during one of a couple potential information sessions. The dates, times, and locations of these information sessions will be provided in the aforementioned email. Follow-up emails may be sent from our officer board.
Our typical initiation requirements include:
- Completing a brief interview with one of the members of our officer board
- Polishing a bronze-cast Bent (the symbol of our organization)
- Paying a one-time dues to cover the costs of initiation and its materials (members do not pay dues)
- Attending our initiation ceremony
We have altered our initiation process in order to protect the health and safety of our initiates for the Fall 2020 semester.
